Submitting your application (AoR)

Once you have the invite, you have to submit your documents and provide other information as part of the application.  This is a very important stage because you would be given permanent residency on the basis of this. Here are some tips while submitting your final application!
  1. The information you enter in the application determines your document checklist. For instance,  based on your address history, the checklist determines the countries for which you need PCC.  So fill out your information correctly. Your document checklist will get updated based on the changes you make.
  2. The online application is a little flaky. Sometimes the upload document functionality doesn't work properly.  So save your work everytime. Should you encounter any difficulties like these, try logging off and logging back in the profile.
  3. For address history, do not have any gap else the online application won't save your data. It will give you errors!
  4. Once you have submitted the application,  you won't be able to see all the details of your application.  For instance,  you won't be able to see your document attachments.  For your reference,  it is advisable to maintain screenshots and a copy of the attachments you have uploaded.
  5. You have 2 months to submit your documents and there are no points for submitting early.  Please do not miss any document in the checklist. (Letter of explanation also referred to as client letter is optional) Plan accordingly to procure these documents on time. DON'T RUSH YOUR APPLICATION!
  6. Pay your fees and submit your application.
  • You would then get a receipt i.e. acknowledgement of receipt once you submit the application.  Watch your email and profile message for the same.
  • Check your bank account to see the amount deducted for the fees.
  • Should you have an update in your situation,  inform IRCC using the IRCC webform.

With this you have put your best foot forward. Now CIC will correspond with you via messages should they need anything. DON'T compare statuses with other folks! Every case is different.
You would get the golden email (if you are approved) with self-explanatory instructions on what to do next. Have access to that email address at all times.
