Address history in the Express entry application

Post ITA, one of the pieces of information that you have to provide is address history for the last 10 years. Please note that address history isn't the same as travel history.  For example,  if you lived in the US and traveled outside on vacation for a few weeks,  you don't have to provide the temporary addresses you were residing for vacation. Your travel history will cover the international travels. Think of address history as the legal address where you are residing i.e. where you pay rent or mortgage.
Couple of things -
1. You don't have to provide address proof but plain address history without gaps.
2. The start and end date may not be exact but put it as per your best knowledge.
3. If you have lived in multiple countries then please ensure that it matches with your travel and personal information history. Look at your passport stamps. Do not miss any country where you have lived because the address history influences the document checklist i.e. they need police clearance certificate for every country that you have lived for over 6 months.

4. Usually US tax forms have the official address on file. Check your tax forms and pay slips, if you want a refresher of your address. They may have your address.
5. There shouldn't be any gaps in your address. You won't be able to submit the express entry application if there are gaps.
6. Note that if you were on vacation in another place, you don't need to provide that temporary address. You will have to provide your legal address at all times for 10 years. Your internationally vacations will be counted in the travel history.
7. Your work history also asks for the location for every experience you state. In other words, if you were an engineer working in New York in 2014 then you cannot have an address of India in that period of time.
8. Similarly if you getting your masters degree in New York in 2015, you cannot have an Indian address at the time.

Your story should add up!
Hope that clarifies all your queries!

  1. 1)What address needs to be given for the time while you are in transit. Eg: many times one day is gone while travelling from USA to India
    2) Also, many times you land on the same dates because of time difference. So can we write address for both the place on same date

  2. Address history is different than travel history. For example, if you were say in US from Jun 2010 to Jun 2015 and traveled to India in 2012, 2013 and 2014 for vacation then your address history would just have one row for US because your legal address was US. As for travel history, remember you need to specify travels that were not between your country of birth and residence. In those cases where you have timezone difference, you needn't worry as long as it matches with one stamp in your passport. It is understood.

  4. Hello All, I am filling the Permanent Residency application after receiving ITA for Express Entry and in the 'Address History' part of 'Contact Details', I am required to put all my addresses from the last 10 years without any gaps. My question is that I have lived at my current Pakistani address since 1994 until I moved to UK from August 2008 to July 2012 after which I moved back to Pakistan and started living at this address for 6 months from August 2012 to January 2013 until I moved to USA from January 2013 to April 2019 after which I moved back to Pakistan again and started living at this address permanently since April 2019.

The issue I am facing is that every time I choose 'Yes' for this Pakistani address as my current address, it gives me the 'From' option but not the 'To' option to input the dates. Can you kindly tell me how shall I include this current Pakistani address, for all the three instances I have mentioned above, in my 'Address History' part of the 'Contact Details' section? Thanks
